Originated from China, Panyu, Chao Tang village.
He moved to Malaya at the age of 20 and involved himself in a lot of businesses, namely metal workshop, jewellery , Chinese and western imports , photography and rubber plantation.
He was president of the Selangor pre-war Welfare group in charge of refugees. During the Japanese invasion of Selangor in Malaya, he was the leader in the first southern team to prevent Japanese air assault . During the Japanese occupation in Malaya he was a supervisor in an association looking after the sick and elderly injured.
After the war he was the treasurer of Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall, Tung Shin Hospital, Confucian Private Secondary School and Kuen Cheng Secondary Girls School.
He was committee member of Selangor Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Chinese Maternity Hospital, Chung Kwo School and several Chinese associations.
He was vice president of Selangor Kwong Tong association and committee member of Selangor & Federal Territory Kwong Siew association.
He put in a lot of effort in making Panyu associations at state level to join the Federation of Panyu association in Malaya.
As a trustee of Selangor Chin Woo Athletic association, his refusal to sign the document on the sale of Chin Woo association proved to be his greatest contribution.
